Generalized Anxiety Disorder (GAD) Medical Information

This is one of the most common mental disorders. It is twice as common in women than in men. Many times, it is accompanied by major depression. It is also associated with substance abuse, posttraumatic stress disorder, and obsessive-compulsive disorder. GAD is characterized by excessive and persistent worrying that is hard to control causing significant distress or impairment.
